Workplace Training

Supporting employees through baby loss and infertility

Baby loss and infertility don't stop at the workplace door.

For an employee experiencing loss, fertility difficulties or infertility, continuing to work can feel incredibly challenging. For managers, knowing what to say, what to do and how best to support someone can feel equally difficult.

My workplace training is designed to help managers and wellbeing professionals feel more confident, informed and compassionate when supporting employees through these experiences.

Why this training matters

Baby loss and infertility can have a significant emotional impact, affecting someone's mental health, concentration, relationships, confidence and ability to manage day-to-day life.

Yet these experiences can be difficult to talk about at work.

Managers may worry about saying the wrong thing, invading someone's privacy or not knowing what support to offer.

This training helps break down some of that uncertainty.

A practical and human approach

This isn't about turning managers into counsellors.

It's about helping them feel more comfortable having conversations that can otherwise feel difficult or awkward, and giving them the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately.

My approach is warm, practical and grounded in an understanding of the very real emotional impact of baby loss and infertility.

About the training

I have completed specialist training with the Foundation for Infant Loss to provide workplace training around supporting employees affected by baby loss and infertility.

The training can be adapted to suit your organisation, team and workplace needs.

It can be delivered for managers, HR teams and workplace wellbeing professionals, either as a standalone session or as part of a wider wellbeing programme.

All training delivered is designed with intention, from the atmosphere we create to the way each session flows.

Training for managers and workplace wellbeing teams

My training provides practical guidance and greater understanding around supporting employees experiencing:

  • Baby loss and miscarriage

  • Stillbirth and neonatal loss

  • Termination for medical reasons

  • Infertility and fertility difficulties

  • Fertility treatment

  • Returning to work following loss or difficult fertility experiences

We'll explore the emotional impact these experiences can have, how they may affect someone at work and, importantly, how managers can respond with compassion while respecting individual needs and boundaries.

What will managers learn?

The training can help managers to:

  • Understand the potential emotional impact of baby loss and infertility

  • Feel more confident having sensitive conversations

  • Know what to say — and what not to say

  • Respond appropriately when an employee shares their experience

  • Understand that grief and emotional responses don't follow a set timeline

  • Consider practical workplace support and adjustments

  • Support an employee's return to work

  • Create a more compassionate and supportive workplace culture
